Dear wise ones of the VFB List...
I could really use some advise on dying materials. I plan on dying some natural colored and beautifully tanned pine squirrel skins...and probably some bunny feet. I have Jacquard powdered acid dyes. The very brief instructions on the container call for using the whole bottle in 2 gal of water with 1/4 cup vinegar. But that will dye 2 lbs of material. I only want to dye a few ounces. So can I find success by using smaller quantities of all ingredients. I called and spoke with Jacquard and the only advise that was given was...to experiment...;^) I am hopeful that some of you may have some first hand experience on dying with acid dyes that you would be willing to share.
