1st off! Not a pro! I've been fly fishing for over 25 years and tying for about 15.
I totally suck at doing parachutes(sp?). One thing that did help me with deer haired flies is a burner. I got my first one when I really smashed my big toe with a block. At the ER, they used a burner to "releave the pressure" under my toe nail. It went home with me and works wonders on shaping dear hair. I think cortland sales one.
