Okay, Okay This is not a different version of John Ms double double post post.
Please offer your opinions and preferences with respect to tying thread. Most of what I use is Uni in the 6/0, 8/0, and 3/0 sizes. To me, it seems stronger than equivalent Danville threads. In a book I read recently, the author stated that Benecchi was noticeably stronger than Uni. It should be easy to do a breaking strength test, but I havent seen such a comparison anywhere. I really like to put a lot of tension on the thread, so it would help to know whats strongest. Im going to tie a bunch of flies from 20 -> 28 and would like to be prepared. Kevlar thread is incredibly strong, but what I have is way too thick for anything but big hair bugs. Is it available in smaller diameters? How about the gel-spun poly threads?
