I don't want to bollix up a good thing, or bite the proverbial hand
that feeds us, but it occurs to me that we may have stumbled onto a very
good thing here, way beyond the Whiting co-op swap.
It seems many of us (hobby) tyers want dry fly hackle - a (more than?)
reasonable amount at a reasonable price (and some even lust after the
cree). So, what's to stop John R. from cooperating with a player(s) to
be named later to acquire half (or less) of a cape at half (or less) the
price? In other words, John R. posts with the subject "Whiting Silver
Badger - bronze" or DonO posts with the subject "Midge light dun" to
explore interest in that particular cape. If there aren't any takers,
the posters must then decide whether to buy it on their own or let it
go. If someone(s) "bite(s)", the honorable poster orders the cape and
divvies up the feathers.
Byard can't break packaging from Whiting. But we can, without biting
the hand that feeds us, and perhaps even increasing sales for our
fearless leader.
A thought, without any commercial interest.
                Regards,
                Roger Cotner
