Amadou is a tree grown fungus that is cut into strips and boiled in
"strong urine" for three days. when dry it is absorbent and used to
dry flies. can be boiled in potassium permanganate instead.
wonder what they were trying for with the orriginal recipee??
And Ian...please put to rest the rumor that additionally it is masticated by
little old ladies in a village of Northern Italy to soften the fibers...;^)
