My view is that if i'm not interested in the SUBJECT HEADING, I will delete it without reading it. I Know this means that at times I might miss out on something of value to me. But as Don states.."take the time to edit the Subject Heading".. I've noticed a number of times that the actual Body of the posting has little or nothing to do with the Subject Heading.. These posts/replies evolve over the course of the day or days and the Subject Heading stays the same. I'm sure that a number folks have checked out the "parent Post" & a number of the follow ups, finding that the subject isn't of interest to them and automatically begin deleteing all posts with that same Subject Heading..I Know i'll do it when time is of a premium.. It takes little if anytime to adjust the heading so it reflexs the current body of the post..
Also, i have few problems with the often high numbers of Posts...a very good sign of a Healthy, living & well loved List. I will delete posts that are dealing with Subjects/swaps/items I'm not interested in or have any Information to offer...but any New Subject Heading that is posted, i will read the "Parent Post" & afew of the follow ups...you just never know...
As Don states, this the Best List out there, real Humans on this List. some of the others, while providing Information & such, seem to lack the Human Factor that i find very important..... I do buy materials from Byard & renew my membership in the VFB...it ain't mandatory we all do this, but it shows Byard we care for this list that much more... he ain't getting rich off this List or Line's end...but we should all support him as much as we can. I'd probally not be on the Computer/internet as much if the VFB went away..
Anyway, thats my $0.02 on the subject. Please Edit your Subject Headings...Thank you for your time..
