Be persistant as you nymph deep (on bottom where the fish are holding tight). I use a small bead head prince, pheasant tail, or copper john (#14-18) with a brassie dropper (#20-22) or a similar size hook wrapped with red thread.

In New Hampshire the trout season opens up Jan 1st for rivers.

Does anyone have any techniques for winter fly-fishing and patterns I should
