No problem Hans. The reason I tye some of my flys like that is very simple, they work. It isn't to save time. I do tye patterns with wings. Have done 28's with upright wings, parachutes on Tiemco's so called 32. Basically all I am saying is I tye flys for myself that work. When I tye for swaps or other people the wings are included. The fly that I normally omit the wings on are egg sac spinners, the up portion of the hackle is a visual aid more than anything.
