Hello. I want to announce a new swap.
Owing to 1) the popularity of the recent Whiting Co-op Swaps and, 2) the
recent re-awakening of the "Trimmed Hackle" Debate, I am going to attempt to
host my very first swap.
The Trimmed Hackle Swap.
Here's the deal - we need all participants to kick in for a few saddles or
capes(similar to the rules of the first couple of Co-op Swaps)...my
suggestion is that we buy nothing other than Whiting Platinum.
Next we have to find someone in the swap who trims hackles....this may be
the hard part. Since NONE of us (except that old curmudgeon Dr. Doug) has
ever trimmed a hackle in our lives we can't really be expected to snip....we
may take part in group plucking....but not group snipping. Anyway...so we
find someone who will snip....or someone who "has a friend who snips but I
would never do it myself...." and send them the feathers. And they trim
trim trim until all the fe athers are the proper size. This way - everyone
can end up with ultra-tiny feathers of all colors and flavors (this is
important to that Old Curmudgeon Chicken Eater Dr. Doug) to play with.
Who's in?
