Another good Orvis reel for the money is the Battenkill disc drag.  I have the 3 wt model & have land a couple of steelhead on it.  Help up like a champ.  One of the trout streams I fish is a short great lake no name trib with a nice population of wild brook trout & steelhead smolts.

Subject: [VFB] Reel Question

Has or does anyone use the Orvis Clearwater 3/4 reel? If so what is you opinion of it? Been thinking of buying one, the price is right, as a primary. Also, I have been reading a lot about fly lines as of late, what is the best all around line to have? The streams around here are not very wide or deep, 15' across and 4' deep avg., thinking of going to a 4wt DT, right now I use a 5wt level floating line. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

Bart
