I'm sure you're right on this. Perhaps some manufacturerer or big distributor somewhere is considering discontinuing their WF lines, but I can hardly believe that the industry as a whole would stop making and selling such a popular type of line.
While we're on the topic, the only way I've found to get twice the use out of a DT line is to completely turn the line around every once in a while. This means that if you clean your line about every 5 or 6 outings you would need to strip it off the reel completely and swap it end for end. That way both ends get worn out evenly and you get the full mileage out of it. Kind of a pain, to be honest. Jimmy's idea of making a WF out of it sounds workable, though I've never tried it.

Dell, I very much doubt there is any truth in DT discontinuation,
even if they do not have the same attention and development in tapers
as WF type lines.
Closest to a DT in WF-type lines would be a Long Belly design, of
which several are out there.
