Hi list,

its raining here heavily since several days. As a result the levels of the
rivers are rising.

Here in Cologne we have nearly 6 m (over 6 yards) more water in the river
than usual (usual is 2 to 3meter) . Its rising by 7 to 8 cm /hour. (2 - 3
inches).

The current level is 8,5 m, tomorrow morning the authorities expect 9,6 to
9,8m, Tomorrow afternoon over 10m. That means, that a part of the city (the
old historic part of the town) is expected to be flooded.

The magnitude of the final level is unknown, weather reports say that it
stops raining on sunday or monday. Lets hope that it will happen.

The ff related context: Im speaking of the Rhine, one of my homewaters.
