Deb another Michigan note for you. That is something the Timber companies have been doing here. By allowing land use by the general public they receive substantial tax breaks. Some of the lands have campsites (rustic) & boat launches. Most of this is in the U.P. but helps to keep the lakes' shorelines very wild. Also T.U. has been buying land for access. One of T.U.'s main goals here is to increase the population of Coaster Brook Trout. These are huge 3 to 5 pound average. The world record is a coaster, too bad it was not caught in Michigan :^)
