My boy scout troop recently went to visit a waterman, one who fishes 12
months of the year. The lifestyle is not one thats going to make you a
millionare. The people are friendly, and the community is nice, but the
boats arnt anything like the 20 foot skeeters that the bass fisherman run.
One guy was using a boat from 1954 and every 5 minutes one of his 4 bilge
pumps had to kick in so it wouldnt sink. What the watermen do for us...the
common go to the grocery store and pick up fish, it saves us alot of time
and trouble. You can help out at home by recycling, picking up trash you do
find, and not using fertilizer/draining your oil down the sewer system. All
this eventually finds itself into the waterways. Remember, we all live down
stream.
Well, im back to tying up a bunch of deer hair mice for the Fishing Expo.
Anyone in Maryland going to be either at the regular expo in timonium or the
fly fishing one in college park this weekend? I'll be at both...
