DonO, Very good. The only omission was your mailing address. Where do we send a SASE?
I haven't tried Tyger but have used several different pound-tests of American Fishing Wire. It is very supple, but oh so spendy. I am somewhat lacking in knowledge of wire leader material so, although the wire worked for what I intended, I can't say what the performance would be for other applications. The physical demands of your flies are a lot more intense than those of mine. I'm basically tying for steelhead, salmon and searun cutthroat and not for saltwater fish with built-in jousting implements or big teeth. >From a commercial point of view (for the articulated leeches and bucktails) I have carried on with 20# Amnesia for furling the material in manufacturing the j-rig as depicted in the website I posted a few days ago (which has been updated to include a few more pics of the furling technique.) Using the wire leader in place of the Amnesia works well as does braieded dacron or braided mono. If anyone's interested, goto www.geocities.com/salmn8r/furledstinger.html.
