Larry,

in case I do not use the CDC I use some 'grey' dubbing for my Adams. Byard
added some neat dubbing to the last Caddis swap. (BTW:....) go some grey
through my son's participation in the swap. great for Adams. Tried some SLF,
great too - especially if you decide to rope.

Rene and Alan: I know that the original Adams calls for
muskrat dubbed for the body. I haven't used muskrat for
years. I think I can get a lot of materials to float
easier than muskrat, and they are a whole lot easier to
wrap.

Rene:

How do you attach the CDC? By the tip or butt?
Do you use it in place of mushrat dubbing?
Or do you use it instead of palmering a hackle?

: Larry,
:
: I use a CDC feather for the body of an improved Adams.
The CDC barbules
add
: a lot of movement to the fly and they add floatability.
: Is the ostrich Adams a good floater? I never tried it.
Always thought that
: the ostrich plume will soak quickly and caause the fly to
sink.
