Heh, one thing for sure, once I started dicing the habs, even the dog ran for cover. She normally sleeps in the kitchen, and couldn't take the fumes...

I never use gloves but remember the chile oils seem to intensify after using soap. I wonder if a slather of veggie oil prior to washing might help. The burn only stays on my hands for an hour or less to me but I avoid touching the wife and kids for a day. Many of my orange habs are just halved, seeded and put in jars of white vinegar in the fridge, delicious. This allows me to have limited exposure to the oils when handling correctly. Now the cutting board is primed for cutting up dinner after that.
