Hello again!
For all that are interested.... I finally caught up with Mike Martinek
yesterday. He said he had never seen a tandem Carrie had tied but had heard
of the possibility of one also and can't confirm or deny. He did say there
are many one of a kind flies she tied out there. He can tell them when he
see's them. She sounds like a normal tyer right? He felt like I did that
there is a possibility she may have experimented with a tying couple tandems
towards the end of her tying. He thought they may have introduced in Maine
even earlier than the Forgotten Flies dated it. Maybe as early as the
1940's. He did shed some light on her illness that I found interesting and
very informative. She suffered from Alheimers which really explains a lot.
I knew she was sick but never could find out what it was. So the last 10
years or so of her life she probably didn't tie a lot if any.
I love having this man in my tying club!! :0) My own reference library
in close range.... I'm sure anyone who has the pleasure of visiting with
him for a short while can relate to this.
