Gary, I believe for normal usage the difference in the materials is negligible. Some are lighter some are a little more durable. I get which ones are what mixed up.
The important point for me on the Pontoon boats is the frame. The steel powder coated frames have a tendency to acquire rust after some time and if you may use it in salt it will definately rust. Steel frames are also heavier anywhere from 20 - 30lbs more than aluminum. The plus is they are usually cheaper. The aluminum is the opposite. They do not rust as quickly they are much lighter but the cost is more. I have been doing a lot of research on this subject. The shop I work at p/t just became a dealer for Outcast. I have been leaning towards a Fish Cat 9 for the price $479 it has everything i want but its over 80lbs. Well Surprise they just came out with a Fish Cat 9 Lite, aluminum frame about 25lbs lighter and only $100 more. I'm sold. [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >
