Thanks for all the replies re. Pontoon Boats.

Perhaps the Subject Line I used was a little confusing. I was actually referring to the Pontoon Boats that have oars. I realize that fins can be used on these for positioning while fishing.

I have asked this question of lots of folks and the VFB list has been the most positive with regard to using this style of PWC. Most folks complain about them being subject to being blown about in "stillwater" situations. Others say they are slow (probably because they think I am speaking of ones that a propelled primarily by fins).

I have used a U-shaped float tube for a number of years and have never really been comfortable with it. It is a nice craft and I know some folks love them, but I just have this thing about being down in the water in a confined situation like that. Creepy crawlies and such.

I notice three primary materials for the pontoons on these craft. One is listed as PVC with Vinyl air bladders (FishCat), another lists a Nylon outer shell and a Nylon inner shell (Outcast), and another is PVC coated Nylon (Water Skeeter). The Water Skeeter doesn't mention having air bladders, so I wonder if it does or not.

Any experience with the durability of these different pontoons?
