We had an extended discussion about these on the streamer list a little over a year ago. The solution derived was to punch them out of very thin sheet brass with a teardrop shaped punch originally designed for scrapbooking.

The Edson eyes were punched from extremely thin brass sheet (see above) and added no significant weight to the streamer. They were fished like a traditional New England streamer and lacked the bobbing, jigging action of a Clouser. The Clouser Minnow is essentially a flyrod jig (heresy, I know) and was inspired by the traditional spin-casters leadheaded bucktail jig.
