Joyce,

As I remember, the thickness was about 0.003" (3 mil). To be sure, you might want to check with Dean Endress. Shim stock this thin has the onsistency of very thick foil. I'll make you the same offer I made Dean. I don't have brass shim stock of that thickness on hand (but know where I could get it in town), but I do have some 0.002" (2 mil) copper foil. If you want some copper foil, e-mail me your address.

Joyce, Mark, and list,
If you don't have a local supply, you can order .003" brass shimstock in a 6"x 60" roll from McMaster-Carr. Their stock no. is 9504K15. The price is only $5.15. They will ship it to your door. (for an additional charge of course). They have centers in L.A., Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, and New York. E-mail me off list and I can get you the phone no. for the one nearest you. I have no affiliation with them other than ordering items for my business, and one of those items is......you guessed it! Brass shimstock. I just don't have any in .003" thickness, or I would mail you some. Hope this helps.
