Bill Troth took a pattern called The Little Brown Sedge which he credits to a Mr. J M Skews and modified it. He changed the wing for Elk Hair and modified the way he tied in the body and hackle. Check out volume 2, number 1 of Fly Tying published by Frank Amato. It has an article about Troth. Mel
