I just might have to be insulted. You think that guys can't do any of the other crafts. I can knit, macrame, quilt a little and will put my crocheting against anyone.
I had a guy see some crocheting I had done and said I needed to tie flies. He gaive me his stuff and told me to go at it. Mike Houge of eflytyer.com answered a million questions that I asked him. I like the process of tying the flies and that I could make wahat I wanted the way I wanted. I id have someone tell me that I need to decrease the amount of material I put on flies. Last summer I had a gentleman stop and watch me cast for a little while. He asked it I would take suggestions. He changed the way I held the rod and the angle that it is moving. My casting improved a fair bit. The problem with flyting is that i have almost as much stuff to tie flies as we have materials for other crafts. Rick
