I got your note, and am stuffing some fur in baggies even as I type, well, before or 
after.

I made a wooly bugger the other day, using a dubbing rope wound with gold wire and 
faux fur.  It's the wooliest bugger I've ever seen.  If you chop up your pooch's guard 
hairs, and mix it with the undercoat, it would probably do really well.  

I use two vices, one rotary and one not, to do the dubbing rope.  Make a loop of wire 
between the two vices and smear on some sticky wax.  Spread the hair on (don't put too 
much, play around with it until you get what you like).  Then rotate until it's really 
really tight.

When you wrap this on the hook, it takes the place of the chenille and the palmered 
hackle.
