I'm guessing you're referring to while you are winding ribbing or silk.  I
tie a half hitch with the thread and hang the bobbin on the arm provided for
it.  You may have to adjust the setting of your vice to line up both the
hook shank with the arm and the bobbin holder with the hook eye.  This
setting has to be adjusted for each different size hook you use.  :0)  I'm
such a gadget person....  not.   Time to look at the LAW vise... vice
probably the same thing....   :0)
