A little trick I use to line up the cradle and the hook in a straight line, to use the rotary vise is a long needle, a 6" job, I lay it over the cradle and along the hook shank, then adjust till I get a straight line. I have the Renzetti Traveler without the cam (older model), and use that for freshwater flies and when I take my gear on camping trips, it will hold smaller saltwater hooks. Then I have a HMH pedestal I bought at a fund raising auction. It has all the jaws but is heavy to carry to shows and things, so its my at home vise.

You may have to adjust the setting of your vice to line up both the
hook shank with the arm and the bobbin holder with the hook eye. This
setting has to be adjusted for each different size hook you use
