I just use a razor blade and slice off a piece. The round piece can then be divided into halves, fourths, eights. A typical egg used 1/2 piece clear, 1/4 orange roe, and 1/8 or 1/16th red (just a spot). I also tried adding some from glitter glue sticks, but didn't like the look.

I'm also going to make some ant patterns using the technique to see how I like it. Finally, I'm going to experiment with a thread underbody to see if it makes the glue stick better. I have had them work loose from the shank when using the old glue gun technique.
