If you are concerned about the vises ability to hold a wider range of hooks,
I suggest you contact Renzetti and ask if they have any options or would
recommend a different model. If you have a friend who is a machinest he
could make you a dandy pedistal. I have always gone with the clamp model
vises simply because of the reduced wieght when travelling. If you save
money and purchase a copy you may have problems down the road if warrenty
issues should arise. I always believe you will get what you pay for. If you
are looking to save some money I suggest you watch ebay and look for a used
Renzetti.
Just to let you know; if I could only have one vise I would choose the Regal
vise. I've had one for years now and it has been problem free. I used to tie
flies commercialy and have definately given it a thorough test.
Hope this is some help.
Regards
Mel
