Select hair that is as straight as possible with as little underfur as possible for easy stacking. Along with Deb's tip make sure you have a base of tying thread before you tie in the deer hair cump. This will help hold the stack in place so it will not spin as freely. If you can get some books or videos by Jack Dennis he is a master at working with deer hair and can provide you with plenty of info.

Subject: [VFB] anybody out there?

Anybody have any tips for stacking deer hair.  1st of all what hair works best for this, i.e.. belly, tail, body?  2nd The 1st understack goes on great but the 1st top stack and everyone there after just wants to spin as well as the bottom.  I am using 6/0 thread should I use something stronger to bind in tighter?  Thanks for the help.
