I hope that you are all not worn out with Sowbug reports.
The hour nap yesterday turned into an all night nap. It was
a busy week.
Sowbug for me starts early in the week. Friends come in and
the house is like a railroad station with people coming and
going. I love it.
We fish, tie and lie. Talk leaders, rods. flies and what has
happened the past year. Gerry and Richard arrived on Monday,
Denny on Tuesday, Rene on Wednesday, Jimi, Mike, and others
on Thursday.
We fished from Monday to Thursday. Tuesday we fished White
Hole and did well. Richard got a 16" brown, the first brown
he had ever caught. We all caught trout in spite of the
wind and water release. Thursday morning Rene was at the
house, I asked him what he wanted to do. I said do you want
to rest, tie, fish or just visit. He said I vould like to
feesh. I had too much to do so I took Mike and Rene to
Tucker shoals with the boat and dropped them off. Rene can
tell you about the ride back to the dock from Tucker Shoals.
It was a windy wet one.
The Show started at 9 am on Friday. We had close to 600
people. The total tyers were 96. A number of them tied all
four sessions. We also had two family groups tying.
The VFB members I got to meet were Dr. Doug, Jimi, Rene,
Randy Lawler, Mark Delany, Elmer Maler to name a few. I have
CRS when it comes to names. It was hard to get them all
together for a group photo though I did get a couple.
Friday evening was the free barbecue and the food was great.

Saturday was another busy day at the show. I don't think I
saw Dr Doug or Rene leave their tying station at all till
Dr. Doug left to go fishing. Doug, did you hit that spot I
told you about at Cotter..
Saturday evening we had about 8 people here at the house.
Not sure if Rene went fishing, too much going on.
Sunday was bright and clear. No units running. Rene and
Denny got out the the river and did their thing. Rene caught
some nice rainbows and a brown. He can give you a better
report on that.
Things all run together, I think it was Sunday evening that
Skip brought in his motorized furled leader making rig. Rene
got to make his own Furled leaders. We also spent some time
in my rod room . gave them all a nickel tour on making
bamboo rods.
It was hard saying our good-byes on Sunday night for the
ones that were leaving.
Jimi had planned on staying till Wednesday and I was really
looking forward to that. We were to fish and play with
bamboo. Jimi, hope to do that next year. Some left early
Monday Morning, Gerald Monday at noon and Denny Tuesday
after noon.
The house was empty and things were quiet. It was
depressing.
Now things will get back to normal till October when another
bunch will be here for the Southern Council Conclave. Will
be looking forward to next March when we will have our 7 Th.
annual Sowbug Roundup. That is my highlight of the year. I
am sure I left some things out but I don't want to get too
windy.
