---Is tulle the same thing as organdi?  Organdi is a very fine, transparent mesh.  
It's used in silk screen printing as well as in trimming dresses.  It's available at 
fabric stores, and is cheap.  I mention the silk screen thing to point out how strong 
and liquid resistant it is.  You can wet it and wash it, and spread solvents and oil 
base paints on it, and it comes clean.  It holds up well for wings etc.

On this same subject, there is a book out called "Fishy's Flies," by Fishy Fulham.  He 
has some really interesting ideas about unusual  materials.  Good illustrations and 
tips for tying and fishing the flies.  He recommends seam binding for a lot of winging 
applications.  I've seen the book at Borders and Books a Million.  I bought it, but 
you can skim it free in both places.
