Its a mesh netting sold in fabric departments for bridal wear. I use it instead of calf for Wulff patterns and for wings on spinners.
What exactly is Tulle, Del? I think I may have been looking at some in
my tying supply boxes this morning and thinking, hmmmm...this might
work.

That's not what I have...this stuff came over in a package from Europe. It is about 3/8" wide and made of pearl flash and silver flash material crisscrossed with a binding thread that holds it all together and flat. You can snip off a section and carefully remove the two silver flash pieces on each side. You end up with a flat pearlescent strip with a woven texture. It's interesting stuff and just the right size for a salmonfly wing.
Will also try the glitz, tulle, rainbow hair, iridescent cellophane and metal twist materials...thanks to all for sending samples.
Report to follow later!
Thanks to all.
