Junaid,
My advice? Well...now that you asked. Wet wade. Rocks...edges....ledges....sticks....snakes? Doesn't matter. Actually...you DO want to be careful. Make sure that your footwear is high quality (hopefully this won't start another thread about sandals). Having never been considered "bright", I wet wade in Tevas all the stinkin' time. The Lower Owens no (BIG) rocks, just sticks and leeches...The Yuba (much more water...rocks). The Little Truckee. The Madison. The Gallatin. Be careful...but it can be done safely (some of you "bright" people may argue). And, of course, the Pacific. We have big rocks, small fish, big fish, crustaceans (small and large), stingrays, diapers, and people from Bakersfield...any one of which can ruin a good day of wading (my apologies if I have offended any stingrays out there....)...but there's nothing like going Commando in the water.... Chris
