I have a mink skin that has under fur which is a nice rusty cream colour. It makes great bodies on nymphs and emergers.

Polly Rosborough had a wonderful mink fly he created which is a very effective match for a brown dragonfly nymph. I think he created it for a stonefly nymph.

In Europe, mink is available in a number of dyed colors and strips and hair - used for small streamers (where bunny strip fur would be too long), among other things.

If you want to play with regular red-brown mink, almost any thrift shop will often have pieces available.

Look for the "minky" pattern on the internet. The guard hairs make great tailing material for dries and the underfur is a fine dubbing material for wets. You did make a find indeed. Joyce
