I was introduced to the Zinc Mink tied by Ruth Zinc.  Simple fly that is effective.

I now tie it for bass with a clear/refractive seed bead head and four amber seed beads for the abdomen.
Tail is mink guard hairs.
Thorax is mostly mink underfur with some spikes (guard hairs).

I've had bass pass it once, and then turn around and nail the fly!

If anyone needs mink, contact me off list.  I bought an old mink fur coat and have started chopping it up.

I suppose I can put together an auction package and post it on VFB

Look for the "minky" pattern on the internet. The guard hairs make great tailing material for dries and the underfur is a fine dubbing material for wets. You did make a find indeed. Joyce
