No, it covers the origional owner only, but I do know the origional owner and I do not think he would have a problem sending it off for me if something were to ever happen to it. By the way I did buy it and it is without a doubt the sweetest casting rod I have ever had the honor to use, it even casts better then a Winston (waiting for the Winston owners backlash....)
