To answer your question.... DUBBING can be referred to as a material or
a technique. There are many forms of material that you can use
for dubbing and after you have selected one,such as rabbit fur, yarn or
synthetic, you can dub it on to your fly for most likely the body of the
fly. It can also be used in the thorax area of a fly.
The technique of dubbing can be done several ways, you can either
spin your chosen dubbing material between 2 pcs. of thread that you are tying
with or spin it directly to a single piece of thread your are using to tie
your fly with.
If you choose to use a single thread technique apply wax to your thread
before you spin on the dubbing material and this will help with keeping your
material in place and stick to your thread.
