---Dubbing is to apply fur or some such material, usually some sort of fuzzy stuff, to your tying thread, and to wrap it onto the hook as body material. The material can be natural fur, or feathers or synthetics. There are several ways to apply it to the thread.
The material itself is referred to as dubbing. I recommend you get a book or a video to look at. there are some good illustrations of a dubbing technique called "rope dubbing," on the Virtual Flybox Site," done by Don O, of the list.
