Another thing that smells very nice is pipe tobaco.  I "let Prince Albert out of the pouch...," and put some in a small ziplock bag punched full of holes and spread it around in the drawers where I have "stuff" that I want to keep the bugs away from.
This has worked adequately for me over the years.
