I'm wondering if I should build a violin instead of the rod. Kidding aside. My son plays electric guitar and we talked already about the options to build one by ourself.

BTW: glues... what glues are you usually using to glue the grip and reel holder on the blamk? On my first 2 rods I used a glue which I bought at the flyshop. For the last rod they didn't had some of the glue and recomended to use some regular 2 component glue from a craft shop. Worked for me.
Again: What is your favorite glue?

Yep, but stresses on musical instruments are different in direction. Maybe I'm using the wrong terms here, but a violin's glue joints are under a stress perpendicular to the glue joint's plane, whereas a bamboo rod's glue joints are under a stress tangential to their plane.

Not only that, but the actual vector direction varies all over the place, whereas in the violin it is
in only one direction.........unless you drop it!
