IAIN,
Don't get me wrong...Mustad still produced quality stuff in the Mid 70's thru late 80's... it's just that they also sold soo much below standard stuff as well... I remember the last few times prior to the Tiemco arrival that I would open the plastic boxes up & pump them on the counter at the fly shop to inspect the hooks... It just got to the point where it was like gambling when you'd purchase Mustads... you had a 50/50 chance of getting Junk....
I purchase the Older Mustads that come in the cardboard boxes still...they always seem to be fine & quality when they came in a Cardboard box... (did the Plastic Boxes make the hooks go junky????)..why is that???
