Hey all winter is here in Minnesota. Currently 12 deg. high tomorrow is expected to be about 25 deg. We have about 6 inches of snow on the ground. The River in my back yard has a thin layer of ice on it, and trout fishing is closed until April. Most of the ponds in the area have enough ice to support the geese that are walking on it. So what do I do in the winter?? Tie flies, deer hunting opens tomorrow, tie more flies. The only fishing left is with the really short rod, about 2 feet long through a hole in the ice when it finnaly gets thick enough to drive my car out onto the lake. The ice needs to be about a foot thick for that. There is allways sking and snowshoeing and of course winter camping for me and my boy scout troop. Nothing like wakingup and trying to get dressed at -40 deg and all of your cloths are frozen stiff. Here is a toast of hot chocolate to all you VFBers happy tying and I really am looking forward to a great frozen winter.
Back to my tying bench.
Phil
