Jeff, and others,
One thing that Anglers was in Utah was the "local" shop. You could go
in and find several flyfisherman who were headed out, just been or wished they
were going. You would chat, get yourself pumped up, buy some flies or in
my case more flytying material and head out. Anglers changed in Orem to
focus more on the bass fisherman. They changed managers and they let the
flytying get real thin. Soon that shop was gone and now all the
others. I really believe they could have made it if they had done a better
job of focusing on the flyfisherman who I would guess spend $10 to $1 of
baitslingers. But the sad thing is the loss of a local forum where we
could go to meet each other and lie. The big shops like Sportsman's don't
give that and of course the on-line shop doesn't. It is one of the big
reasons I appreciate this list and all of you.
