ROTFLMAO..................sorry John. Never heard of such a thing. I sometimes smoke, but never in my tying room. I guess i have once or twice......actually, but normally never. Usually the only room i smoke in, is the computer/office room. How do you think that happened to your floss? I mean wasn't it covered in a box or something? Next time just buy tying floss, shouldn't be a problem. mark

I bought some embroidery floss from a lady on ebay. I am using it to weave
bodies for bluegill nymphs and maybe some stoneflies later on down the road. I
got my floss today (100% embroidery floss), and opened it up and it smelled
like cigarette smoke.

Now, being a non smoker myself, my nose is really in tune to be able to
detect the smell of a smoker. I do not know how I could wash the floss without it
unraveling, if the smell would even come out at all.

So my question is, do any of you smoke cigarettes while tying flies, or in
your tying room? If so then your flies would probably hold that smell in them
as well, and do you think it will affect the fishability of the flies?
Especially for something like a bluegill nymph, where the fish really inspects what
it eats?

John
