The plastic bobbins and Gudebrod 225 yd. spools of thread may be available through Ed Koch. I have an email into him now and will report back.
Gudebrod has discontinued marketing the 225 yd. spools of flytying thread. They only market the regular 100 yd. spools, and it is waxed thread.
Sulky products spools fit the plastic Gudebrod bobbins. I am going to check today whether Krenick and other brands also will work on the Gudebrod bobbin. I have old spools of Gutterman, and these do not fit.
I am told that some old, musty flyshops may still have the 225 yd. spools of Gudebrod. If so, that would be a good buy if you had the bobbins.
More later.

Hi all,
I have been talking to several people and online flyshops offlist about the plastic bobbin I (and evidently Deb Duran earlier) like a lot.
The plastic model, which I am told is Gudebrod Bobbin, is no longer in production, but there still might be a source for the remainder. Checking into that one.
The metal type is the Griffin Multi-purpose Bobbin, and while I was unable to find it in US listings, I did find what looked like a Canadian source. The price isn't that inviting at $10.95 USD each, but you would save over time using the larger thread spools.
Question for Deb...are these the ones you have??
I have put photos of both of these on a web page so you can get an idea of what these look like. Please let me know if you have a source for either.
