I've never gotten booted from using Paypal. I've been a member for a couple
years now and I've never given them a bank account. They have a credit card
with fraud protection on it. I would never give them a debit card. Ebay
bought paypal a little over a year ago and during the transition somehow
they slipped up on their protection for a short time. One of our fellow
VFBer's was hacked into around that same time.
As a result of this I refused to give them the information they requested.
They did tell me my spending power would be limited and I would loose the
ability to use paypal. I can tell you this never happened and I do buy a
lot on ebay. I use paypal for the majority of my business as a safegaurd to
me. If there's a limit ... I haven't hit it yet so it must be pretty high
after two years of shopping ebay.
I have also recieved emails where they requested information about me and
sent me to paypal links to update my information .... THESE WERE
FRAUDULANT EMAILS NOT SENT BY PAYPAL!!! Beware people do try to steal your
identity this way.
