Overton's isn't made anymore. Mr. Overton was a plumber and some say that
his wax was the ring from toilet seats with a bit of violin resin added. You
can go to http://www.globalflyfishers.com and look up the article on making
your own dubbing wax.
But, as I still have a tube of Overtons, I have compared the wax made by
all the other wax produces and find that of Al and Gretchen Beatty, BT's wax
in super tacky is as close a substitute as I've ever found. You can
probably get it from Byard or obtain it directly from Al and Gretchen. Give
me a holler if you are interested in getting some. Gehrke's isn't really
very much like Overtons..it is too dry and not sticky enough IMHO. Joyce
