The dubbing is a synthetic dubbing of some kind.
I would say it is medium Olive.
Will shoot an E mail to him this evening and ask him what he used. Will post it.
As far as you german goes, all you have to learn to say is feesh. LOL
When Rene got to my house last year we were getting ready to feed the bunch. I asked Rene if he wanted to eat, he said he wanted to Feesh.

So what dubbing did he use? Olive rabbit? And speaking of Olive, there are a lot of shades that are called "Olive" Light Olive, Medium Olive, Dark Olive, Brown-Olive, Damsel Olive... which one oo you use?
I just tied up a dozen Olive Ice Dub wooly buggers. It will be fun to see how they fish. I've willing to fish with Rene In the hole if he'll have me. I can practice my German. Of course, Rene should have the edge with any German Browns.

Tom,
My buddy from N.J. comes out and fishes with me for three weeks each year for the past five years. We fish every morning and evening.
Alex is the one that got me started in this crazy sport back in 1945. He will catch fish when no one else is catching fish.
A couple of years ago he started tying olive buggers with a dubbed body. He had run out of Chenille and could not get any before he left to come out here. It was unbelievable how these dubbed body buggers worked. He was out fishing two of us at least five to one. When we started picking on him, he offered us a bugger each. He still out fished us. We have always had a friendly competition going on tying and fishing from the day we started fishing together. Al keeps accurate records, in the three weeks he was here he C&R close to 700 trout. I only caught a little over 100.
Al always offers me his spot and I tell him " no sense of me fishing there, you have already pinched all the trout in that hole".
In the five years I only out fished him one evening. It was one of those unbelievable times on the river. Was hooking up on about every cast. AL caught 39 and I caught 72. This may sound like BS, but those that know me and have fished with me know I don't lie about things like this even though I am a fisherman. LOL. I was using one of Al's dubbed sz 14 olive buggers.
Tom, I will put you on that hole at Tucker. You will have to share it with Rene. I hear there are a few large browns up there.

Tony, its all personality! The fish like you better. Once I was fishing with a friend who was catching all the fish, and I got so frustrated I told him he'd had enough fun and asked him to leave and let me finish off the hole. So I fished and fished until just before sundown, I saw a fish swim right up to me. He poked his head out of the water and asked "Hey! Where's your friend?"

I will post this , it is how the name came into being.
I was fishing with one of my fishing partners one evening up at Tucker on the White.
Bob seems to have a problem fishing the Chili Pepper. It seemed that I had a fish on or a hit on each drift. Bob was doing exactly what I was doing but just did not connect. De drifted like I did and did the miracle inch at the end of the drift but still did no good. He then moved right next to me and followed my directions, still no good. I was still catching fish all this time.
Then Bob asked, What are you doing different that I am doing.
For some reason I said " you just have to learn to do the Chili Pepper Stroll". That seems to stick.
Bob finally hooked up before we quit.
I C&R 33 trout to Bob's one. We still fish together and enjoy each others company, I fish the pepper but Bob fishes what he feels conformable with.
Bob can tell you this story when you meet him.
