I like using Ice Dub for body material in my wooly buggers, it gives flash similar to a Crystal Bugger, but is a little more subtle and the fine strands move more in the water. Last fall I caught a lot of nice fish using these.

I don't know what will work on the White, but here are my favorite color combinations for local waters.

All Black marabou and hackle with Peacock Black Ice Dub
All Brown marabou and hackle with Gold or Copper Ice Dub
All Olive marabou and hackle with Olive, Peacock or Gold Ice Dub.

I also like to mix various colors together with my fingers for "spectrumized" colors, like gold and olive, or gold and peacock, and sometimes I leave off the hackle.

I use the following steps:

1. Put bead on hook (I like 3x streamer hook size 10-14)
2. Tie on thread and a sparse marabou tail. I can usually tail five buggers from one feather. Tie the butt ends of the feather all the way to the bead to beef up the body, this way you use less Ice Dub when dubbing the body.
3. Tie in copper wire for ribbing, while tying back to the hook bend.
4. Dub on ice dub in the conventional way. You won't get a tight dubbing rope, nor do you want to. Wrap the body full and loose up to the bead.
5. Tie in a saddle hackle by the butt end, NOT THE TIP, just behind the bead. Palmer it back to the bend of the hook, then secure it by palmering the copper wire forward to the bead. Tie off and your done. If you like, take an old toothbrush with the bristles cut low and brush the fly to bring out more Ice Dub.

I will be tying this pattern and some of my other favorites at the Sow bug. My theme will be "Quick and Deadly" flies that are quick and easy to tie but have caught a lot of fish for me. I'm excited to find out how they will work on the White.

Tom,
excellent plan. Any your post reminds me, that I have a despenser box full of ice dub laying around. I'll ty some up with red and orange. What hackle do you suggest? And yeah, I also hope, that we can fish and chat together!

I just tied up a dozen Olive Ice Dub wooly buggers. It will be fun to see how they fish. I've willing to fish with Rene In the hole if he'll have me. I can practice my German. Of course, Rene should have the edge with any German Browns.
